Trend: New Florals

With the upcoming spring season, many stores have brought out a variation of the classic floral prints. It's more realistic -- like botanical illustrations. When I shop, I typically gravitate towards patterns and I have an affinity for these kinds of florals. Left - H&M; Middle - Sheike; Right - H&M Hopefully, I'll be able to snag myself one of these when the weather is warmer.

Beauty: Blue Eyes on Fashion Week

I'm a little late for this since New York Fashion Week (S/S 2016) is old news. I'm loving the Spring 2016 blue eye trend. I know blue pops up here and there, but it was showing up a lot on the runway for the Spring/ Summer 2016 Ready to Wear. From your subtle blue liner and blue mascara to the bold coloured thick liner/ cream shadow -- it's everywhere. The 70s are making it big on the runways, and that means makeup that channel the flower child, or the barely-there look. Every hue from the lightest blues to navy for a smudged grungy look (a la Marc Jacobs) were featured on the runways. NYFW S/S16 RTW - (From top left clockwise) BOSS, Marc Jacobs, Jenny Packham, Jill Stuart, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Diane Von Furstenberg My favourite was Diane Von Furstenberg's RTW runway show. Pat McGrath did a wonderful job on the makeup. It's probably all the glitter and the mix of blue and teal/aquamarine eyeshadow that made it a multidimensional look. It keeps it more modern tha...

Random: Spring

Sydney's now in spring. The other day, I took a stroll around the neighbourhood with my sister and found some trees still blossoming.  Pink blossoms! White blossoms! Honestly, I'm not spring-ready, even though a whole month has almost passed. Spring and summer are my least favourite seasons, even if they have the most holidays (Christmas and New Year's) and also my birthday's in Spring. The pastels, the bright colours, the hay fever and the stinking hot weather - I've never really enjoyed it. I just hope that these flowers can help inspire me. I'm feeling up for a bohemian vibe.

Inspiration: Chanel's Spring 2012

Hello there, Ok, I lied about the fact that I would post when I get back to Australia, so I'm using my cousin's laptop for this. What got me inspired to write this post was Chanel's Spring 2012 collection of nail polishes. There's 3 nail polishes called "April", "May" and "June" (very creative, right?). It is mainly "June" that inspired me, because I fell in love with the pastel tangerine. My cousin has a bottle of "June" (which was the last bottle in the store) and "May". Wouldn't it make a nice hue for a sweater or a cardigan? It's super girly in my opinion and it is perfect for spring because it reminds me of spring flowers. Here's a picture of my thumb with "June". It's a little yellow because of the light in the room. I took this at night. I plan to hunt down for something in this colour and hopefully I'll find it. Image taken from here
