Trends: Checks

We're now in autumn in Australia. Check patterns are almost ubiquitous now. Thank tartan for being a recurring trend for quite some time. However, patterns like houndstooth, gingham and Prince of Wales check popped up on the runways as well as various types of tweed (houndstooth is the most popular). Now I love my checks but there's only so far I would go for them. Autumn/Winter 2013/14 Houndstooth The classic tweed was featured on various runways. In Christian Dior, it was mostly kept classic and minimal. Comme des Garcons featured the classic houndstooth on some unusually shaped garments. Rag & Bone opted for a grey and black houndstooth and used various textured fabric to create an asymmetrical garment.  Left to Right: Dior, Comme des Garcons, Rag & Bone Tips: Wear houndstooth in moderation for a casual look but if you're daring enough, you could do a houndstooth suit. Scraps: My Style

Hello there! Though it has nothing to do with fashion, what I'm going to say is: I've finally finished my exams! That was actually a week ago but I've just been grieving for the fact that I ended my exam period with a fizzle rather than a spark. Anyway, back to fashion, I've realised that I've never really showed my style on my blog but that is because I did not wish to put anything too personal in this blog. I just had the idea to break down my style in this blog post, so that is exactly what I'm going to do. If I had to describe my style, I would not really be able to put into words. I wouldn't describe it as chic, or classic, sophisticated. I'm not trendy nor am I casual or relaxed. Though I'm quite fond of vintage clothes, I would not describe it like that either. It's simply a reflection of who I am, what I like and what I feel like on that day but I used to have some goth and punk influences in my style. 1. Plaid I'm very fon...

Scraps: Autumn Equestrian

I just want to make one little post before my exams (so... I suppose no posts for two weeks) and it'll be pretty short.  So basically this is just a really random post because I was drawing to avoid studying for exams. I'm no art student nor do I have an artistic hand, so this is going to look pretty horrible but I am  WAS proud of my colouring until it showed up weird when I scanned it! Also, I don't do anything fashion-related at school (I love my sciences...) Going on a tangent, that just reminded me of the Ace Attorney games and this character called Ema Skye (in English), I think I'm more like her than any other character in terms of my interests, I mean she's so into science that she aspires to become a forensic scientist and you'll never see her out of her lab coat (personality-wise... not so much). Jeez, my geekiness kicked in.  Actually, what I just drew looks like what she's wearing (except it isn't a uniform): Blouse: check Vest/Wai...
