Picture Overload: Outfit with Bow Headband

Hello there, It's certainly been a while since I've posted anything. I've just finished all my exams so now I could actually spend some free time updating this blog. To be honest, I lost a bit of my passion for writing about fashion and I couldn't think about what to write. So I thought I'd just do a post on something I'd wear with the bow headband (which I made a tutorial on). I can't get away with wearing it in my normal outfits because while my style is a little girly, it can't really get away with this cutesy OTT headband. The headband really isn't as wearable as I had thought it would be... which frustrates me to no end because it just sits there in my drawer.  So basically, I pulled out the girliest thing I had, which was a Sass and Bide Vie Dress. The material is sheer so it's actually more of a beach dress but it sort of channels Snow White and Minnie Mouse with the headband in the summer. It's very difficult trying to take a...

Picture Overload: Autumn Knitting

I'd like to mention a few things first. Firstly, there aren't a lot of pictures. Secondly, it's the end of the holidays, so I won't be posting much anymore. I'm lucky if I can post once every week. I believe I have mentioned before in a previous post but I have a strange habit of knitting in the summer and for the rest of the year, I hardly do any knitting. So this post won't have a lot of finished projects. In fact, I've only have one. So the yarn that I had used was handspun by Shadyside Farm Studio: here. It was the yarn called Bunny Hug, which is 40% angora rabbit and 60% lambswool. Enchanted by the of angora rabbit but knowing that angora fibres weren't very elastic, I chose a blend (I didn't make the purchase myself, because I can't). It isn't as fuzzy as pure angora but it still has that bit of fuzziness. I had turned the skeins of yarn into balls. It's not exactly very neatly done but it made it easier to knit with. I...

Picture Overload: A School Mufti Day

I should perhaps warn you beforehand that this is a personal post. I suppose it will have a bit to do with fashion but it's leaning towards personal.  For those who do not know what a "Mufti Day" is, it's basically a uniform-free day.  For those who don't have uniforms at their own schools, it might not seem like a big deal but when you wear a school uniform almost every weekday, it's pretty big because you're finally in casual clothing (nothing has to be prim and perfect and for once you're wearing colour!) Most mufti days will support a cause and everyone donates a gold coin (or more) in order to wear casual clothes for a day. Specifically, this mufti day was to raise funds for the Queensland disaster (ie. Flood and Cyclone Yasi).    These are actually my friends but let's pretend that they're models. For privacy reasons, I'll only name them by their initials. (They know about this blog... at least most of them do) Analysis: ...

Picture Overload: Summer Knitting

My favourite seasons to dress up are autumn and winter. It's the time of year for layering and adorable knits, elegant coats and boots. So, it's summer in Sydney ... and the rest of Australia and I've got all the time in the world to knit ( almost ). Now some people think it is strange to knit in summer (namely my friends) but I say that knitting sooner will keep you warm . I don't tend to knit during the winter because it is the time I want to be warm and not knitting with frozen fingers. Here are just some of the things I have knitted. Above: This is a cable and bobble hat I have recreated for my friend, Flora. I've also knitted the same hat for another friend for Christmas. I double-knitted this so it's perfect for really cold winters.  Pattern available here   (The hat I made has some alterations) This is the mint herringbone cable bangle I had made. The yarn is 100% merino, so it's not itchy. I know that this isn't much of a winter knit but ...
